Hell's Katz Squad Clan Information & Rules

Overview
The Hell's Katz Squad is a dedicated gaming team that stands above all others. The team works hard being the best team that it can be - pride and dedication goes along way. The Hell's Katz Squad has been an organized team since December 2001, a spin off of a previous team, called Gunsmith Cats, involved in Team Fortress Classic. The team was initially formed as a Medal of Honor squad, then moved into Battlefield 1942, eventually playing in several different leagues and tournaments. These leagues include Online Gaming League (OGL), Team Warfare League (TWL), Elite Squad Games Invitational Tournament (SG), and Cyber-athlete Amateur League Invite (CAL-I).

Recruiting - Applying

Fill out an application
All players interested must fill out an application. Emails, IRC messages and instant messages will be ignored.
Individuals greater than 18 yrs old is preferred. Those under 18 yrs old may still apply.

Tell us about yourself!
This is very important. We do not know anything about you so make sure you tell us something that will make us consider you for a tryout. Tell us about your online team experiences, games you play, how you can contribute to the team, and etc. Tell us nothing, the application gets deleted.

Tools
Several tools are required before tryouts will be considered. They are as follows:
TeamSpeak - http://www.teamspeak.org/
X-Fire - http://www.xfire.com/

A working microphone (headset preferred).

Idle in X-Fire
Idle in X-fire as much as possible and chat with members so we can get to know you.

Play with Members
To further increase your chances of a tryout/membership, play in public servers with members. This will gain you quick notice, especially if you perform and communicate well.

Tryout
Tryouts is simply nothing more than attending practice with the Hell's Katz Squad team. Three areas we will assess are as follows:

Communication
Skill Level
Team work

Players will be informed immediately after the tryout if they had made recruit status.

Recruit Status
Recruit status is an extension of tryouts. This phase typically lasts anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending upon the individual. Here we continue to evaluate all the areas mentioned above in addition to the attitude and personality of the individual. Those who we feel do not meet the needs of the team will be removed, with or without reason. This phase is very important and is different for each individual. Bottom line is that a recruit is nothing more than a guest of the team. Don't be surprised if we turn up the "heat" occasionally. Finally, recruits must be able to attend and participate at all practices and scrimmages. Recruits are not eligible for official match play, though they must make themselves available in the rare occurrence that they may be needed.

Membership - Expectations

Respect
All members are required to respect their fellow players whether or not they are part of the team. Failure to do so will result in removal of membership.

Attendance
All members are required to indicate, on the calendar of events, whether or not they will be attending that days events. Failure to do so will result in a strike. Strikes are shown on the roster page. Three strikes will result in removal of membership.

Practices/Scrimmages
All members are required to attend all practices and scrimmages. Attendance should be indicated on the calendar of events.

Matches
All members are required to attend matches whether or not they are scheduled to play or not. It is of utmost importance players make themselves available during a match in case of connection problems, disconnects, or other issues that may occur, anytime during the match, in which the team is in need of an immediate replacement.
Do not speak to the opposing team. Only leaders of one team should speak to the other team in order for the match to proceed smoothly. Failure to adhere to this rule may result in a strike at a team leaders discretion.

Cheating
Cheating, no matter its form, will result in an immediate removal of membership. A public notice will be posted on our forums in addition to the league forums that will include the players in-game handle, IP, email, etc.. Bottom line, do not cheat.

Server and Donations
Donations are appreciated.

Dedicated game servers are not free. A simple monthly donation to the server will help keep things running smoothly for everyone. A Typical contribution of $10.00 a month would be greatly appreciated. This donation is not required, but it is highly recommended.  Remember, if for some reason we do not have a server, that is because you did not contribute. Do not expect anyone to pay for a dedicated server by themselves.

Administration - Admins
When administering the game server, be considerate of other players. Abuse of the server will result in removal of your access to the server.

Reasons for Player Kicks or Bans

Team killing
This is seriously frowned upon and will result in an instant ban. Accidental team kills are not a problem. Only those who continue to ruin the game for everyone else will be banned.

Profanity, racial comments, harassment, etc
This will not be tolerated in any form. This will result in either a kick or a ban depending upon the severity of the comments.

Making room for Hell's Katz Squad members
This is rare, but is such cases, players with the worst pings or worst scores will be removed to allow members to play on the server. This will only be a "gentle" kick. Players will be able to return once a slot is open.
